Lollapalooza Wrap up:

Here is my long awaited lolla recap. This year was my first year attending Lollapalooza and may I say that words do not begin to describe what an incredible weekend I had. It was the best moments of my life, even though I might say I almost died on the last day in the MGMT crowd. Here is what my line up looked on for

Friday, August 6th,

  • B.O.B
  • The Ettes
  • Los Amigos Invisibles
  • Semi Precious Weapons
  • Hot Chip and of course….
  • LADY FUCKING GAGA

Now I wouldn’t be blogging if it wasn’t for my lover @ladygaga. If there was a word in the english dictionary to describe her, I would use it. Her concert was phenomenal! I’m sorry I take that back. She didn’t have a concert.

She had a FUCKING SHOW!! Of course, what else would you expect. She does everything for the love of her little monsters. She is limitless, boundless and unforgivable. She will RIP your head off and set it on fire (I would be ok with that).

We arrived to the Parkway Foundations stage approximately at 5pm. Three effin hours standing in the crowd waiting for momma monster. The best moments on my feet. As much as my ankle hurt, I sucked it up. I was about to be in the middle of history in the making. Every year, Lolla attracts more than 80,000 concert fans and almost all of them were at Gaga’s concert.

Fuck the Strokes. I wanted to see them, but I would never miss Gaga for them.

I live for Gaga. End. Of. Story.

It’s 8pm: and the little monsters are getting impatient and waiting for the party to begin. Of course, me and my best friend forever Juan, are betting against the crowd that she would start with “Dance in the Dark” and others were saying, “No, she’ll start with ‘Telephone’ ” and of course, only true fans would know…

Silicone. Saline. Poison. Inject Me Baby, I’m a FREE BITCH!

IT WAS PERFECTION and there isn’t any other person in the world I would want there with me besides my bffl @juangarcia.

If I could have a time machine. I would teleport to that moment in time and relive it once again. BEST FUCKING CONCERT.

After Dance in the Dark, she sang my anthem. The only Gaga song that personally hits home “Just Dance”. Of course, Gaga knows how to start the party. and well enough said. I just danced. It was wonderfully epic.

Lady Gaga has been one of the most inspiration people I have ever admired. She is wonderful in every way possible. Inspiration is letting her monsters know that we can be anyone we want to be regardless of our sex, race or sexual identity.

Never have I ever heard a ROAR of acceptance and liberation among crowds. WE were free. Freed from oppression and freed from rejection. At that moment we could be who ever we wanted, whenever we wanted and efff what others thought of us.

I think at a certain point within her “Speechless” song, I began to cry. Maybe it was her beautiful lyrics, but I just remembered that she wrote this song for her father and without a doubt. It reminded me of mine. I then felt the same feeling that she felt when her father was ill from a heart surgery. I felt sad and tears rolled down my cheeks thinking of everything my family and my daddy has gone through.

As the concert’s almost ending, and the show begins to close, @ladygaga had us hold hands with the person next to us and raise them to the sky. I found her hidden message. Together we can. We can accomplish anything we want, defeat anything we want. TOGETHER.

The curtains come to a draw. She doesn’t say goodbye. This is unlike her. We all know it. You can’t fool us Mama Monster. We still haven’t had your bad romance.

The Crowd starts to ROAR “Bad Romance! Bad Romance! Bad Romance! Bad Romance!” and then you hear her go. “Ohhhhh OooOhhh Oohhhhh”. It was the perfect ending to a perfect night.

Here’s a recap of DAY 2:

  • Free Sol
  • AFI
  • The xx
  • Dragonette
  • Green Day

Day 3:

  • Nneka
  • Yeasayer
  • MGMT

I slept for 12 hours the next day. It was beautiful.

Here is the video of @ladygaga during the Semi Precious Weapons show and she jumped off stage. She jumped off stage and I snuck in backstage to get a glimpse of her (before the security kicked me out). She saw and heard me. I was literally less than 10 feet from Gaga. I cried and she came back towards the gate but then left. One day Gaga, we will meet. :)

From me to you.

Ciao,

V
